Description

There are a number of ways to gain this climb, North ot South Tiger Mtn or thorugh Mirrormont. The real climbing starts a few hundred yards north of the TM Fire Station on 154th Place. You'll sdd another full mile of hard climbing and decent pavement with a speed bump as you head straight uphill through a small residential section for the first bit. The first switchback up and left gives you an idea of what is to come, steep climbing on decent pavement with the occasional driveway. The inside of the first two switchbacks is a measured 24%. You'll hit the steepest continual section (18%)right after the second switchback which passes a house on your just after the right right hand switchback. The top of that secton hits a short flat heading into the final left hand swithback and a longer straight uphill section as it heads past a few drive ways on your right. (couple of other short steep possibilities here but in general stay left for the longest climb) You'll find more undulating climbing up and left and then a slow turn to the right as you top out in someone's driveway just past the old steel forest service gate and the end of the pavement. The last bit on 154th Pl doesn't show accurately on the maps as my altimeter and personal observations keeps coming up with a climb of 850"+ from TM Rd. One of the longest sections of steep climbing in King Co. Short enough for intervals. If you like this climb take a look at the top of High Valley on Squak Mtn. Not the best ride in the wet as the moss higher up gets pretty slick late and early season. Pavement is getting worse every year but is scheduled to be repaired next spring. If you like the climb call King Co and get them to do the needed repairs soon! M Make sure your brakes are in good shape for the decent! M
